Oral Presentation Guidelines
All presenters are asked to bring their presentation on CD or memory stick (preferred). At conference breaks, please meet at the central conference laptop located at the front of the room to load your presentation on prior to your session commencing.
All oral presenters will be asked to submit a brief biography and high-resolution photo for inclusion in the conference program no later than Friday, January 29, 2010.
Structure
Oral presentations should include the following slides:
• Title slide – Project title, listing of principal investigators and co-investigators • Partners (clearly indicating all partners involved in the project) • Project details • Acknowledgements
Content Presenters should ensure that all project co-investigators, students and/or highly qualified personnel are listed at some point during the presentation. We recommend one slide/minute, depending on the detail of the slide. Presenters do not need to provide a great deal of scientific background within their presentation.
Timing Invited or guest speakers = 25 min. presentation + 5 min. of questions Oral research presentations = 15 min. presentation + 5 min. of questions Oral - highly qualified personnel = 10 min. presentation + 5 min. of questions
It is extremely important for presenters to stay within their allotted time. Volunteers will show a green flag when the presenter has three minutes left and a red flag when time is up. Questions will be taken at the end of your presentation.
